Cursor's values, decoded
Explain the practical point behind "By the time you reach the values round, your craft and coding signal are mostly settled."
Step 1 of 2
By the time you reach the values round, your craft and coding signal are mostly settled. What stays open is whether you would raise the bar in a small, flat room of people who already sweat the details. The round screens for a handful of traits at once, and as a Design Engineer you are read against every one of them.
The trait the round centers on is truth-seeking, the hardest one to fake. Around it the panel weighs a cluster of behaviors it has watched succeed and fail: ownership, intensity, craft and passion for the product. The trap is treating any of them as a slogan. They grade the behavior, not your ability to recite the word.

Where the Values Round Sits in the Loop

This module preps the last stage, but every prior stage is already reading you against the same values.
The panel does not weight these evenly. It screens hardest for the traits it has no other way to verify.
