The Interview Loop1 / 2

1 min lesson

That question does double duty

Put this idea into your own words: "Keep the confidence cut straight."

Step 1 of 2

Watch out

Keep the confidence cut straight. Published: a note on three Software Engineer postings (two to three short technicals, then an onsite small-project build, no duration). Not published: anything for the Solutions Architect role, so the demo, discovery, on-site and values stages here are SA/SE-norm inference. If you assert specifics you can't support, a sharp interviewer will catch it.

Say it like this

“I want to prep for the right things, so could you walk me through the stages after this one and roughly what each is looking for? I've seen that some of your engineering postings mention an on-site build and I'd like to know whether that applies here.”

That question does double duty. It gets you the real stage list, which no posting publishes for this role, and it shows you've read the careers board closely enough to know the difference.
