Acceptance of these terms

Field Academy (“the service”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Blake Rowley. By accessing or using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What Field Academy is

Field Academy is an independent, educational study tool that helps people prepare for technical field-engineering interviews through readings, quizzes, and spaced-repetition flashcards. It is provided for personal learning only.

Independence and trademarks

Field Academy is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Cursor or Anysphere Inc.“Cursor” and any related names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are referenced here only for educational and descriptive purposes. All curriculum content is our own interpretation prepared for interview preparation.

Accounts and eligibility

You can use much of Field Academy without an account. Some features — such as syncing progress across devices, the leaderboard, certificates, and cohort tools — require you to sign in through our authentication provider. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to access other users’ accounts or data, or circumvent authentication.
• Disrupt, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or to infringe others’ rights.
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others, including on the leaderboard.

Your content and progress data

You retain ownership of the data you generate while using the service, such as your study progress. By using the service, you grant us permission to store and process that data as needed to operate Field Academy, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Intellectual property

The Field Academy curriculum, text, and design are provided for your personal study. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or republish the content without our permission.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the content is accurate, complete, or up to date, that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that using it will result in any particular interview, hiring, or employment outcome.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Field Academy and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the service.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are violated or to protect the service and its users.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the operator’s place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
