Notice what the table does not contain: a price or a weekly number. The help pages describe every tier relative to its neighbours ("generous, below Ultra"), and the usage screen in the app is where the actual figure for your account shows up. If you are budgeting for a team, that gap is worth knowing about before you promise anyone a specific amount of work per week.
Two rows trip people up. On a legacy Cursor Teams plan, admins do not assign a Premium seat and members do not request access, because every member already has it. And on legacy Teams, on-demand usage is enabled by default, so usage past the seat allowance keeps running unless someone sets a limit.

How does Grok Bot work on The X Subscription?
On The X SubscriptionThe subscription Cursor is sold through: one plan for Grok, Cursor and X, with Free, Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra tiers, per-seat Teams, a weekly included pool for Cursor models shared with Grok, and third-party models billed at API list price from prepaid credit. Press Enter for the full definition. is one more product on your plan. There is no separate Grok Bot meter: its usage draws from the same weekly pool as Cursor and the Grok apps, and that pool refreshes weekly. The X Subscription explainer covers the shared pool and who can switch, so this section sticks to what changes for Grok Bot.

Buy credit, turn on Auto Top-up and set a monthly additional usage limit under Additional usage credits at grok.com/dashboard/billing.
- Nothing needs linking. A SuperGrok or X Premium+ link is not part of The X SubscriptionThe subscription Cursor is sold through: one plan for Grok, Cursor and X, with Free, Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra tiers, per-seat Teams, a weekly included pool for Cursor models shared with Grok, and third-party models billed at API list price from prepaid credit. The practical consequence of a shared pool is that a heavy Grok BotAn early AI teammate product from SpaceXAI and Cursor that works across apps on a persistent cloud computer and asks for approval on selected actions; launch materials describe it as beta, but Cursor says Beta Services terms do not apply. Press Enter for the full definition. week leaves less for Cursor that same week, and the reverse. Most of the rest of Cursor's billing help describes legacy plans and account links, so if you are on The X SubscriptionThe subscription Cursor is sold through: one plan for Grok, Cursor and X, with Free, Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra tiers, per-seat Teams, a weekly included pool for Cursor models shared with Grok, and third-party models billed at API list price from prepaid credit. How does linking SuperGrok or X Premium+ work?
Linking applies to legacy Cursor accounts. Cursor's help calls a link a usage grant, which is a narrower thing than a plan: it grants Grok BotAn early AI teammate product from SpaceXAI and Cursor that works across apps on a persistent cloud computer and asks for approval on selected actions; launch materials describe it as beta, but Cursor says Beta Services terms do not apply. Press Enter for the full definition. usage on one Cursor account for as long as the SuperGrok or X Premium+ subscription stays active, and Cursor re-checks that status at each renewal. Your existing Cursor plan stays in place, keeps billing on its own schedule, and neither subscription cancels the other.

- 3Choose Link Grok Account.
- 4Sign in to the Grok account that holds individual SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus or SuperGrok Heavy. For X Premium+, sign in to Grok with the account that has X Premium+.
- 5Return to Grok BotAn early AI teammate product from SpaceXAI and Cursor that works across apps on a persistent cloud computer and asks for approval on selected actions; launch materials describe it as beta, but Cursor says Beta Services terms do not apply. Press Enter for the full definition. and confirm you have access.
Once created, a SuperGrok or X Premium+ link cannot be unlinked or moved to a different Cursor account, and the SuperGrok help page says support cannot unlink or move it either. Check which Cursor account you are signed in to before you choose Link Grok Account.
A link and a Cursor plan do not add together. Grok BotAn early AI teammate product from SpaceXAI and Cursor that works across apps on a persistent cloud computer and asks for approval on selected actions; launch materials describe it as beta, but Cursor says Beta Services terms do not apply. Press Enter for the full definition. uses whichever grants more weekly usage, and Cursor treats three pairs as the same tier: legacy Pro, SuperGrok and X Premium+; Pro+ and SuperGrok Plus; Ultra and SuperGrok Heavy. So a Pro user who links SuperGrok Plus moves up to the Plus tier, while a Pro+ user who links SuperGrok Plus gains nothing, and buying Cursor Ultra with SuperGrok Heavy already linked adds no Grok Bot usage either. A self-serve Grok Business seat follows the same rule.
If you upgrade SuperGrok after linking, allow up to 24 hours for Weekly usage limit to move to the new tier. You do not link again, and you cannot unlink to force a refresh. Downgrades follow the same window, and usage already spent that week still counts against the lower tier. Request-based Teams plans and Enterprise seats do not take a personal SuperGrok link at all.
Grok Business works differently. If an admin assigned you a seat on a self-serve Grok Business plan, sign out of Grok BotAn early AI teammate product from SpaceXAI and Cursor that works across apps on a persistent cloud computer and asks for approval on selected actions; launch materials describe it as beta, but Cursor says Beta Services terms do not apply. Press Enter for the full definition. (desktop: Settings > General > Sign Out), sign back in with Sign in with Grok using the account that holds the seat, and you are done. Grok Enterprise is a separate case, so contact your account manager.
How is Grok Bot usage counted, and what happens when it runs out?
On legacy plans and links, paid access includes a weekly grant, and Grok BotAn early AI teammate product from SpaceXAI and Cursor that works across apps on a persistent cloud computer and asks for approval on selected actions; launch materials describe it as beta, but Cursor says Beta Services terms do not apply. Press Enter for the full definition. draws from that first. Usage is metered on your Cursor account, not on Grok or X, which is why a SuperGrok limit in the Grok app doesn't match what Grok Bot shows: they are two meters for two products. macOS and iOS share one bucket tied to the signed-in Cursor account. The screens use different names for the same pools, which causes most of the confusion.
- Weekly usage limit
- Included usage. Resets weekly. A SuperGrok name under Manage Plan is the linked grant, not a second Cursor plan.
- On-demand usage
- Extra usage after weekly usage runs out. The row says Billed through Cursor.
- On-demand monthly limit
- The cap on on-demand usage. On the web the same cap is Spending > Monthly Limit.
Names used in Grok Bot Settings and the Cursor dashboard.

Press Enter for the full definition., find On-demand monthly limit and choose Enable. If it asks for a card, finish at cursor.com/dashboard under Spending by setting Monthly Limit. If you subscribed in the iOS or Android app, that limit has to be set on the web.
The limit is a soft one, which surprises people. A Bot already working can finish past the monthly limit, and on-demand stops only after that, until you raise the limit or the billing cycle resets. With on-demand off, Grok BotAn early AI teammate product from SpaceXAI and Cursor that works across apps on a persistent cloud computer and asks for approval on selected actions; launch materials describe it as beta, but Cursor says Beta Services terms do not apply. One more cost lever sits outside billing: every Bot reply counts toward usage, including replies in group chats and messages between Bots.
How does the Grok Bot free trial work?
The trial is a usage credit with a 7-day window on top. The credit is drawn down by how much work your agents do, measured in agent steps and tokens, so the number of messages you send matters much less than how big each job is. A single large or long-running task can use most or all of it, and used credit is not restored or topped up.
Cursor's own advice is to start small, scope tasks tightly, and check the plan screen before you run anything large. That advice reads as obvious, and it mostly is. The part worth building into a habit is the timing, since the help page's own failure case is one large or long-running task, so the check has to happen before the big job rather than after it.
Cancelling costs nothing, and the trial never becomes a paid plan. Cancel Trial appears on free-plan accounts only; it ends the trial immediately, removes any remaining credit and cannot be reclaimed. On a paid plan or Teams seat the trial ends on its own. An App Store intro offer is a different thing entirely: Apple runs it, and it converts to a paid Apple subscription unless you cancel in Apple ID > Subscriptions first.
Can you subscribe on your phone, and how do refunds work?
If your Cursor account already includes Grok BotAn early AI teammate product from SpaceXAI and Cursor that works across apps on a persistent cloud computer and asks for approval on selected actions; launch materials describe it as beta, but Cursor says Beta Services terms do not apply. Press Enter for the full definition., sign in to the phone app with the same account and access carries over. That covers The X SubscriptionThe subscription Cursor is sold through: one plan for Grok, Cursor and X, with Free, Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra tiers, per-seat Teams, a weekly included pool for Cursor models shared with Grok, and third-party models billed at API list price from prepaid credit. The Grok Bot mobile guide covers the app itself.
Without access, choose a plan on the paywall screen and complete the purchase through the App Store or Google Play. Only monthly individual plans are sold in the app; yearly billing, Teams and Enterprise are bought on cursor.com. To use a SuperGrok or X Premium+ link from the phone, choose Link Grok Account on the paywall, finish signing in to Grok in your browser, then choose Finished Linking? Refresh My Status. Which models power Grok Bot, and do they change what you pay?
Grok BotAn early AI teammate product from SpaceXAI and Cursor that works across apps on a persistent cloud computer and asks for approval on selected actions; launch materials describe it as beta, but Cursor says Beta Services terms do not apply. Press Enter for the full definition. is a product, and it is not tied to a single model. For each task it routes to the backend model most likely to give the best outcome, which can be a first-party xAI model or a third-party model from a provider on Cursor's sub-processor list, and the choice can differ between requests. There is no model picker, no per-user selection and no way to route to or away from a model.
Cost follows the work, then, rather than the model. Cursor Help states that routing a task to Opus 5.5 does not change what it costs you per token, and your usage and spending views record everything as Grok BotAn early AI teammate product from SpaceXAI and Cursor that works across apps on a persistent cloud computer and asks for approval on selected actions; launch materials describe it as beta, but Cursor says Beta Services terms do not apply. Press Enter for the full definition. usage without a provider or model name. What moves your bill is the kind of work you hand over and how much effort each task takes. Teams should also know that a Cursor model allowlist or blocklist does not govern Grok Bot; the Teams and Enterprise guide covers what admins see when they enable it.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a separate Grok Bot subscription?
No. Access comes with Premium, Super or Ultra on The X Subscription, legacy Cursor Pro, Pro+, Ultra or self-serve Teams, a linked individual SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, SuperGrok Heavy or X Premium+ account, or an assigned self-serve Grok Business seat. On Enterprise, ask your account team.
Do a Cursor plan and SuperGrok add together?
No. Grok Bot uses whichever grants more weekly usage. Legacy Pro, SuperGrok and X Premium+ are the same tier, Pro+ matches SuperGrok Plus, and Ultra matches SuperGrok Heavy. For more usage, move to a higher tier or turn on on-demand.
My Bot stopped replying and says I hit my usage limit. Is it broken?
No. Your weekly usage is used up and resets each week. To keep going now, add prepaid credit on The X Subscription, turn on on-demand on a legacy Cursor plan, or move to a bigger plan.
I linked SuperGrok to the wrong Cursor account. Can I unlink it?
No. A link is permanent and you cannot move it yourself. Cursor's two help pages differ on what support can do: the SuperGrok page says support cannot unlink or move it, while the Grok Bot FAQ says to contact support with both account emails. Plan on using the grant from the Cursor account that holds the link.
My trial ran out in one task. Can I get it back?
No. The trial is a usage credit measured in agent steps and tokens, and one large task can use all of it. Used credit is not restored.
Can I pick the model to save usage?
No. Grok Bot chooses the model for each task and has no model picker. Cursor says routing a task to Opus 5.5 does not change the per-token cost to you.
